World Leadership Forum Experience and Learning Summary

I had the privilege of attending the #World Leadership Forum organised by @Nexus Public Policy Institute. My journey began with me submitting my application. I was selected as a forum pass access delegate. I was not really sure if it was legitimate or not so I kept on checking on their Facebook page for any updates. I applied for my visa and a few days later I was on my way to Poland all the way from South Africa.

On arrival at the hotel, I met excited and eager delegates who couldn't wait for the forum to begin the next day. Marc Bruhez, was the first speaker, he spoke about how Switzerland has served as a neutral ground for global dialogue, and promoting international cooperation.

I met Roselyn, the author of The 1% Extraordinary Scholar, a book which equips students in both rural and city settings on how they can also impact the world. As a founder of an organization that aims at empowering young people which also translates to charity work, hearing Jasmine share how she began her journey inspired me to keep on working on my dream.

I am one person who was not interested in AI because I felt AI does not have room on my line of work but after hearing Manuel Schippa Pieta talk about how AI can be incorporated into anything, I have since changed my mind and have embarked on an AI learning project.

Dr Suman Roy the founder of Zero Hunger, encouraged us to bring our own chairs to the tables where decisions are made. The question that keeps going in my mind is are the people at the table willing to make space for more chairs?

I can not go into depth with each speakers presentation, what I can say is I learnt a lot about myself, the world, leadership and AI.

Sitting in a room with a diverse audience with big hopes and ambitions inspires you to want more. I am grateful for the opportunity to have attended the forum because I made connections, learnt about different cultures and probably built partnerships. Others should be part of these global conversations because they encourage personal growth and are a way of sharing insights across borders.
